Over 150 Roundtable members and guests attended the Oklahoma Business Roundtable’s annual meeting at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa on June 12. Guest speakers were Governor Kevin Stitt and Commerce Secretary Sean Kouplen. Both leaders were interviewed by Chairman Bill Anoatubby in a unique “conversation” format that also included Q&A from the membership. The leaders discussed successful legislative initiatives and ongoing efforts to streamline and improve state government services.
The Oklahoma Business Roundtable, at their recent annual meeting in Tulsa, elected Brenda Rolls, Frontier Electronic Systems, Stillwater, as the Chairman of the organization for 2019-2020. The Oklahoma Business Roundtable was founded in 1991 and serves as the state’s key economic development support organization. The non-profit business group works to promote new jobs and investment in Oklahoma through business expansion, start-up and recruitment efforts. There are approximately 160 member companies.
Joe Brusuelas, Chief Economist for RSM US LLP was the keynote speaker for a special Roundtable Executive Briefing on February 20th at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City. Over 120 members and guests were in attendance.
Brusuelas provided a brief but comprehensive global and U.S. economic forecast based on growth of 1.8% with downside risk. His current outlook for 2019 includes: growth deceleration with risks around trade deficits and business investment, uncertainty over trade policy, slowing of growth (after the recent tax cuts), challenging business outlays on capital expenditures (software, equipment & intellectual property) and modest household spending.

On October 2, 2018 Roundtable members and guests attended a membership meeting and heard from keynote speaker, Brian Byrnes, Oklahoma City Thunder Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. The meeting was held at the Oklahoma History Center.
