Ackerman Named Roundtable President/CEO

Chairman Tom Clark has announced Ann Ackerman as the new President and CEO of the Oklahoma Business Roundtable.

She succeeds Carl Edwards, who has completed three years of great service to the organization. Carl will continue to advise during a short transition. 

She will become just the fourth President of the Roundtable. Previous leaders were Don Paulsen, Blake Wade, and Carl Edwards.

Ann most recently served as CEO of Leadership Oklahoma.

Current chairman of the Oklahoma Business Roundtable, Tom Clark, said “After an extensive search process, we were thrilled to find and hire someone like Ann who has a proven record of running a statewide organization, is well known to many of our partner members, and who we believe can effectively lead our worthy effort”.

Ackerman who most recently was CEO of Leadership Oklahoma said “I’m pleased to be a part of such a respected, effective organization and, along with our capable staff, look forward to working with our state's business leaders, Governor, Lt. Governor and the Department of Commerce to help expand and recruit businesses to Oklahoma. It is an important time for economic development in our state”.

Ackerman was also a long-term educator and college administrator. She currently serves on the boards of the Oklahoma Health Center Foundation, Annie Oakley Society, Children’s Hospital Board of Advocacy, and UCO’s Advisory Board. Ackerman belongs to Rotary Club 29 and is Past Secretary and Director. She has served on the Governor’s Council of Science and Technology and chaired the Governor’s Youth Council and chaired the board of the American Red Cross of Central Oklahoma. Her accomplishments include American Council on Education Fellow, Leadership Oklahoma City’s Paragon Award, The Journal Record’s WOY Circle of Excellence, and OCCC Employee Award for Excellence. She was named one of 50 Most Powerful Women in Oklahoma for 2012-2014 by Friday, and was one of The Journal Record's 2014 Most Admired CEOs.

The Oklahoma Business Roundtable was founded in 1991 and serves as the state’s key economic development support organization. The non-profit business group works to promote new jobs and investment in Oklahoma through business expansion, start-up and recruitment efforts. The organization assists the Governor, Lt. Governor, the Department of Commerce and statewide economic development partners.
