Oklahoma City, OK (September 20, 2020) -- The Oklahoma Business Roundtable announces that Mark W. Funke is their new President/CEO. Funke follows Ann Ackerman who successfully lead the organization over the last five years.
Current chairman of the Oklahoma Business Roundtable, Steven Hendrickson said “Mark’s exemplary business insights and extensive civic engagement make him the ideal choice to lead the Business Roundtable to new levels. Funke has had a long career as a banker in Oklahoma first serving with Bank of Oklahoma for 28 years and then as CEO of SW Bancorp (Parent Company of Bank SNB) for six years. Following the merger of SW Bancorp with Simmons Bank, Funke served on the Simmons Bank Board and was President of their Southwest Division for the last two years.
Funke said “I am excited to follow Ann in this position. She has been an effective leader of this organization working with two different Oklahoma administrations. The Business Roundtable fills a critical and import role in assisting the Governor, Lt. Governor, and the Department of Commerce with economic development for Oklahoma. The Roundtable has a 30-year history of supporting the State’s leaders in expanding local business, recruiting new business, and driving economic development efforts statewide. Funke recently served as Chairman of the Oklahoma State Chamber and remains on that board as well as the board of the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber. He also currently serves on the boards of the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, United Way of Central Oklahoma, The Oklahoma City Community Foundation, Allied Arts and the Central Oklahoma YMCA. He is also a member of the investment committee of i2e.
Funke is a graduate of both Leadership Oklahoma and Leadership Oklahoma City and was honored with the Paragon award from that organization. He was also honored as one of The Journal Record's 2014 Most Admired public company CEOs while at SW Bancorp.
The Oklahoma Business Roundtable was founded in 1991 and serves as the state’s key economic development support organization. The non-profit business group works to promote new jobs and investment in Oklahoma through business expansion, start-up and recruitment efforts. The organization assists the Governor, Lt. Governor, the Department of Commerce and statewide economic development partners.
